François Barrière is full-professor of law at University Lumière Lyon 2. He is co-head of the Contract Law Master 2 degree and chairman of the department of private and criminal law. He is an elected member of the International Academy of Estate & Trust Law, and a member of the scientific committee of the Association Française des Fiduciaires (AFF). He drafted the 2005 Bill for the account of Senator Marini, which then became the French Trust Law of February 19, 2017. He was asked to give advice to the Legislative Committee of the French Senate, as well as the cabinet of the French Ministry of Justice and the French Treasury on trust law. He participated in preparatory trust law work on behalf of the Financial and Economic Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, as well as to the benefit of administrative services of the government of Hong Kong. He is a frequent speaker, both in France and abroad.
