The tragedy Hamlet prince of Denmark

This version of the play Hamlet has been annotated in such a way as to enable non-native speakers to understand the archaic English of Shakespeare. It is perhaps unrealistic to expect the first year student´s of a distance learning degree course, for whom this annotated version was produced, to attempt to understand the work in its entirety. Yet to read the play anly in translation would be to defeal the aim of the course of study which this work accompanies. The cd rom which also complements this edition deals with the soliloquies, their significance and their role in this play and in Shakespeare´s plays generally.
